Changes to Rule 103 went into
effect July 1, 2005, permitting a person to become a Certified
Process Server after taking an approved course.
PS-Academy was instrumental in assisting the Texas Supreme
Court establish guidelines for Certified Process Servers, suggested the
formation of an oversight board that we called the Texas Process Service
Review Board, and worked closely with the Rules Committee in formulating
minimum requirements for training courses for process servers.
We submitted our training course to the newly appointed
and renamed Process Server Review Board for its recommendation to the
Supreme Court. We are awaiting a hearing before that Board that is scheduled
for March 5, 2009.
